Help! Corrupt 4th Product recovery Disc 4 for T43

#1 Post by davidaker » Tue Jul 01, 2008 3:47 pm

Can someone please help me out. My HDD crashed and am in process of replacing it and using R&R Discs to restore system. Problem is that I had started R&R and when I got to the 4th product disc, a message says its corrupted. Now the system is only expecting the 4th disc. Somehow the first part of disc (through number 3) is in memory and no matter what I do, it always expects the 4th disc to be next. Is there an ISO of the 4th disc out there that I can burn and try to see if it completes the install routine?
Any advise appreciated.

There are different sets. First, Intel (1xxx models) vs. ATi (2xxx). Then they often update the sets or add suplemental disks.

Are you doing the R&R on your existing HDD or on a new one?

For clearing the 'hanging' R&R installation, simply reformat the HDD.

Then obtain a set of Product Recovery disks, which will allow you to restore your system, and also in the future should HDD problems occur. You should be able to obtain a set by advertizing for these in the Marketplace on the TP forum.

Thanks

I had the same problem, no matter what i did, it just got stuck on the 4th Cd.
Managed to get a complete copy of the disks used by the IBM service center, they were kind enough to let me make a copy, If you need an image of the complete recovery disk set of 8 cd's let me know and i can ftp it to you.
