I had something spill in my keyboard. Everything was working but the keys were really sticky. I removed the keyboard, flushed with isopropyl alcohol, let dry, blew out the keyboard and reassembled.
When I turn it on now, it gives a splash screen, 2 or 3 beeps and then turns off. Won't boot anything.
Removed CD, HD and battery but the same thing happens?
Anyone have a clue what could have happened? Is there a hardware tampering dealie that could have been tripped?
T40 powerup problem
Welcome to the forum, Einstein...
I suggest you have a look in the recent thread Very Cheap T42 But Won't Boot - there you'll find links to error codes and misc. tools.
As you will see from the "beep codes", your error could be caused by the RAM not working properly. Did you also re-seat the internal RAM stick? If so, try do it again... Other forum members may (no doubt!) have more intelligent suggestions.

As time goes on it appears that there is likely moisture still trapped in the keyboard. I can now begin the boot process with constant beeps in the background.
In retrospect, I should have gone out and bought a bottle of 99.9% ethanol to wash the keyboard out with or at least as the final rinse agent. Post what ends up happening as time goes on.
