T42 with white lines at center of LCD .

I have a T42 / 2373 laptop that has been a real workhorse machine and has worked great for about 2 years. Lately the LCD screen now is showing a few (about 10) verticle white lines in the center of the LCD screen when booted. External monitor works fine. Display is very crisp and bright except for this problem. There are no POST or booting problems. I can use this with an external monitor I guess. Just wondering if anyone has had and fixed a similar issue on this type of box. I am not afraid to take it apart if needed but have never disassembled a T42
before. I have worked on T23 machines with good success.
I have also downloaded the PDF maintenance manuals from lenovo. Just trolling for anyone with experience with this before I open her up.

That looks like a problem with the panel or the cable. GPU problems normally manifest themselves as horizontal lines, in my experience, or flickering/shading etc.

I'd try reseating LCD cable, on the mobo first.

Thought I would answer this myself as I solved it. Had to open
the thing and replace the LCD screen. Got it from Ebay for
$23 . Now box is working great.
