T43 CDrw / DVD rom drive

I have a T43 2668-4DU with the DVD rom. I desire to upgrade to a DVDrw with lightscribe. My problem, is that I cannot find a part number for the upgrade. Looking on the net I have found many drives however without exception they read "Will not work on T43". Am I loosing my mind here or is there something in the docking bay of the T43 that is incompatable with the Lightscribe Drives?
Help will be greatly appreciated.

T4x and R5x series use a different connector design than standard drives. Safest is to buy a Lenovo drive.

Lenovo offers a USB external slim DVD-RW with lightscribe which is FRU 41N5565. The most recent DVD-RW that will fit with your T4x is a FRU 39T2729 which, unfortunately, does not support the lightscribe feature.

Thanks for the rapid responses. Here is a thought. Would I be able to purchase another T model lightscribe and then remove the working parts and place inside the ultra bay for the T43?
