ANYONE HAVING BOOTING PROBLEMS WITH T42P

COMPUTER FROZE. ICONS WOULD NOT SHOW UP ON THE DESKTOP WHEN REBOOTING. NOTHING WOULD WORK WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE MOUSE. CALLED IBM. HAD TO RESTORE AND START ALL OVER FROM SCRATCH ...BY INSTALLING ALL PROGRAMS, FOLDERS, FILES, ETC.
IT CAN BE DONE, BUT A PAIN TO START ALL OVER AGAIN.

DID ANYONE EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING?


OTHER THAN THAT...THE SYSTEM IS THE HORSE OF THE NOTEBOOKS! NO DOUBT. A TRUE JEWEL.

Shame that the keyboard stuck on UPPERCASE ! Seriously tho, did you try reseating anything before a full restore?

Based on the fact your unit is new - it will have endured a significant number of jolts and tumbles in it's journey to you - I would have first tried to reseat everything - from hard disk, to memory, CD drive etc. I only say this as I have seen similar 'blockages' that have disappeared after a little tender loving care. Naturally this is NOT the answer to all problems...although...
