will siig usb 2 cardbus work on t21?

#1 Post by Ogg » Fri Dec 24, 2004 3:32 pm

I am considering of adding a USB 2 upgrade via cardbus to a T21. The product I am leaning towards is either the 2-port or 4-port SIIG (part #'s pcm222 and pcm422 respectively). Will non-IBM cardbus pose a problem? I notice that the 4-port SIIG model is a bit bulky on the exposed end; will that block the second available cardbus slot? Will these products trigger a BIOS problem? I've used Search to explore if this issue has been discussed here, but I couldn't find much.

Should work fine from a hardware standpoint. You'll need XP with the USB 2.0 update (I believe SP1 and SP2 include this.

I have a generic USB v2 cardbus PC card in my T21 under Windows 2000 and it works fine.
