T40 cisco aironet 350 issues

#1 Post by ryan1212 » Fri Aug 01, 2008 12:30 am

I can connect to wireless networks, but after a minute or so it comes up "limited or no connectivity".

I am positive it is an issue with the laptop not the wifi network since the AP is working for at least 20 other users.

FYI It is a unsecured connection so no special settings.

About a month ago I updated the drivers, software and firmware on the card to the latest from cisco's site and its been working fine until now.

Here is what I have tried:

1) unchecking box in windows wireless settings to "let windows manage the card" and making a profile in the cisco aironet application. Same Result.

2)Uninstalling\reinstalling latest software\drivers from Cisco.

3) other wireless AP's. Same issue.

4)made sure antenna is plugged into card and wires are not damaged. Card is firmly in slot.

What do I have set up wrong, or is my card dying?

Try disable power-saving for the wireless card (device manager > wireless card > properties) or set it on the maximum performance if not yet.

I have one of these cards originally for my T21. I had the same issue you're having, and it would also recognize the network and a strong signal until you tried to logon. Then nothing. No network found.
I believe I ended up uninstalling the device and all drivers, then power cycling the laptop a few times.
Installed the drivers, then inserted the card.
I read somewhere that the card cannot be inserted until AFTER the drivers are installed, and in my impatience, I tried the card first.
No issues since then. Solid performance.

Turns out to be an issue with the wireless network that is affecting some machines and not others..
