Blurry picture quality T41P

#1 Post by Likvid » Fri Aug 01, 2008 8:06 am

I noticed yesterday that my T41P connected with the VGA output directly to my Sony 20" LCD gives a blurry picture quality when i compare to my other PC which has a Nividia card connected DVI-DVI to the monitor.

Is the analog video filter really so bad in the Thinkpads?

How do i solve the problem? should i buy a Thinkpad dock unit so i can output DVI-DVI?

What resolution is the LCD ? What resolution is your laptop set to ? Are they the same ? Are you using a good quality VGA cable ?

Resolutions don't match. Your external resolution is probably set to SXGA+ (1400 x 1050). Only a couple of vendors made monitors with that resolution, Sony was not one of them.

Change it to the native resolution of the display.

There's probably an "Auto adjust" button on the Sony monitor. Press it.

Asking questions while providing incomplete information and then being sarcastic is not going to win you many friends - nor find you much help in this forum.
