t40 battery reconditioning woes

#1 Post by ryan1212 » Sun Aug 03, 2008 1:47 pm

the IBM battery app told me I should recondition my battery. I have done this twice with odd results.

The battery used to say 12.8Wh and it would "last" about an hour until it windows would shut down the computer through power management settings.

Now it says 8.7Wh, and with power management disabled it lasts about 1.5 hours, but battery meter says its dead after 45 min

What is odd is when the battery meter says 3% it lasts another 45-60 minutes....

Should I recondition one more time? IBM says to do it 1-3 times...

Is my batteries circuitry messed up?

I would try to recycle one more time.

How many cycles has your battery?

I just finished doing it one more time. It now seems to estimate around an hour (even though I know it lasts an hour and a half)

The battery Wh reading went up to 10.7

my battery has 204 cycles. For some reason it started showing an ** next to that measurement as well. Not sure what that means.

Should I just leave it be at this point?

Edit: Ran it again and now it estimates 12.8Wh..
