T40p video performance?

It's my first post here, sorry in advance for my english, it's not my native language.

I'm considering to change my T23 for T40p and I'm wondering about it's video performance. I would like to try out new games like Half Life 2, Doom III and World of Warcraft, is it possible to squeeze good performance from T40p in these games at least in 800x600?

Don't worry about your English at all, it's very good.

I'm not 100% sure what graphics card is in the T40p, but have just received my T42p (ATi Fire GL T2 / 128mb -- Radeon 9600 class) - I am able to run Grand Theft Auto: Vice City at 1600x1200 at about 40+ fps.

I haven't yet tried Half Life 2 or Doom III, but those are very graphically complex games and are taxing on my desktop computer.

I would reccomend at least a DirectX 9.0 graphics chipset (ATi Radeon 9600 / Fire GL T2 etc) - that would allow all the nice shader and texture effects found in the latest games.

Thanks for the reply. T40p has ATI FireGL 9000 with 64MB RAM. I've read couple of posts in hardware forum here where users shared their FPS. It turned out that T40p is able to give me some gaming pleasure

I guess, 640x480 in Doom 3 will give me at least 20 FPS which is playable.

i;m able to play hl2 at 800x600 with most of the detail settings whacked up to max and it runs around 60fps.

thats on a 2373-1WG (ati 7500 32mb pos) with upgraded 7200rpm drive.

Yeah, I've finished playing HL-2 on my T40p, never a problem.
