T4x GPU Problem - Alternate Fix - R51 Mobo w/Intel GPU!

The new board came with a CPU and I bought 1GB of RAM to go with it.
Definitely no FW bracket and as far as I can tell no chip either. I found another board with one which I didn't buy so I know what it looks like. The FRU list in the HMM lists R52 boards with and without FW chips but unfortunately the FRU number on this one isn't listed.

So...

I finally got around to completely dismantling two T42s to use the best of each component when rebuilding one with an R52 motherboard. I mean completely too as the best screen was in the worst top cover.

All was going well with the rebuild until I got to the PC card unit. It could physically fit if the connector wasn't totally different. Do I assume I need a PC card assembly for a T43 or R52?

I can continue without fitting one, I can't recall ever using a PC card in anything since the 600X, as long as the bios doesn't get upset about it not being there.

T43 and R52 use the same PCMCIA cage, which is different from the T40/1/2 and R50/1 cages.
Reason: the T43/R52 have an Express card slot in it, which the others have not.
The upper blue pushbutton for sliding out the Express card, has an X on it.

Job done using an R52 motherboard and PCMCIA cage and 1GB DDR2 memory. I found all the parts at very reasonable prices, about £27 total so a cheap repair. So far working perfectly...
