T43 Fastest CPU Upgrade possible

#1 Post by silane » Wed Aug 06, 2008 10:10 pm

Hi,

What is the highest CPU possible for a T43 (2668BA1), not T43p ? A Pentium M 770 or 780?

Thank

What about a T42P?
T30 - T42P - T60

These answers are all correct. I've done both upgrades and they work just fine - no heat problems if proper heatsink paste is applied and no noticeable decrease in battery life.

I also have some T42s that are running 755s though (original 2.0GHz models I got used). They are only about 2-3% slower than the 765 and the processors seems to be much cheaper.

I still use a T42 with a 755 as my main machine. With a 7200RPM drive and enough memory (2G for XP) it is quite usable. When my W500 shows up, I will retire it - but I'll be sad to see it go.)
