How to determine if is Flexview (IPS)?

#1 Post by umdenken » Tue Dec 28, 2004 3:41 am

Hi,

I'm looking at T42's, with the 15" SXGA+ screen. Ok, I can imagine that everyone will say, "Well, those screens just _are_ Flexview." But I'd like to actually see that somehow in print. :-)

For example, I'm looking at a 2378EXU / 2378XXM on Ebay (come on! the Seller looks very reputable!), and if I do a search on IBM's site, I get only the most basic specs. Anyone know where to click on IBM's product listing to verify that a particular model has an IPS screen?

Yes, I understand that these models may have custom configurations ordered by the user, but the screen isn't among the custom options - it's determined by the model number, apparently.

Thanks,
Robb

I think you'll find that most of us here rely on the TABOOK rather than the IBM site - take a look at the FAQ for further details on how to locate the one for the 'T4*' series

Thanks, Bill.

By the way Bill, would you be able to order anything equivalent to these computers, and sell them at equivalent prices? :-) This is pretty much what I'm looking for:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... RK:MEWA:IT
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... RK:MEWA:IT

The important ingredients to me are - 15", SXGA+, T-series, $1700-1800. I'm not too concerned with the rest of the configuration - hopefully I could save $$ w/ a slower processor, etc.

Thanks!
Robb

Something here seems odd - the second model shows up on the IBM site as an 'Express Model' (2378EXU) and doesn't at all coincide with what is listed in the auction...ask serious questions before buying, if I were you.

Thanks for helping! Yeah, I noticed that the second one's specs are actually not even internally consistent w/in the post -

But I was able to find the first one, for example, here:
