add Bluetooth antenna?

My machine: 2373 J4U

Forum search reports that I do not have a Bluetooth wireless antenna assembly installed. Can I install this part myself?

After installation of the antenna I understand that I still must install a Bluetooth/Modem Communications Daughter Card (BMDC) and also replace the icon plate set to add the Bluetooth icon.

Any pics or guides that show an antenna installation?

So that person did not install the antenna into the display...they just routed it through the base.

That's not ideal. Obviously works, and won't void the display warranty I suppose. The base is where the most RF is though, and range will probably somewhat limited by the location as well.

If that works for you though, that's certainly the easy way to do it.

Like you, cszy67, the Thinkpad I have (T41 2373-7FU) does not have the BMDC, wireless antenna, nor the panels to show the Bluetooth icon.

Does anyone have a listing of all part numbers I need to order (the antenna, the BMDC, the big and small panels), to make my T41 completely BT capable? I realize there will be a lot of adding/removing/changing parts, but I'm up to the task.
