Hard Drive caddy/cover

#1 Post by RRHODY » Tue Aug 26, 2008 6:38 pm

This may be a dumb question but is there a difference in the hard drive caddy and cover between the T4X 14 inch and the 15 inch?

i've read that the covers are different. the tabs that hook onto the caddy are longer on the 15" models because the hdd connector is deeper in the chassis. the hmm would show specifics.

sarbin is correct. Due to difference in chassis width, HDD is positioned deeper (or more towards the center, if you like) in the 15" units, thus calling for extended "prongs" on the cover. And the difference is quite significant from the point of dimensions.

The hard drive caddies are the same though.

I've found that the metal bracket on the covers are different but if you remove the metal part, the plastic is the exact same.

Thanks for the quick and clear responses. I should have used my "tiny grey cells" and figured it out myself.
