T42 Recovery CDs

#1 Post by Antonov » Sat Jan 01, 2005 9:40 am

Hi

I have just bought a T42 laptop. Would it be better to create the recovery cds in Windows or through R & R (Dos mode?)?

After creating one set of recovery cds, would it be possible to create another set of recovery cds?
Regards,
Antonov

create them in windows.... only one set is possible, but nothing is stopping you from making copies of the first set that you create...

I thought I remembered someone saying that if you restore the system, then you CAN make another recovery CD set because the counter gets reset. Search for "recovery CD" and you'll find it, I'm sure.

To make a copy of your current set, I imagine you can use IBM's RecordNOW! "Exact Copy" option; but I haven't tried this and am not sure if there is protection against copying (but there probably isn't).

I'll be making a DVD copy so it won't be too bad just as long as I don't have to waste a DVD because its copyprotected or something
