T42 internal loudspeakers still work when on dock ?
Hello,
I have a portreplicator for my T40 and T42, but when i place my T42 on the port replicator, the internal loudspeakers still work, and also my external speakerset
If i place my T40 on the port replicator, the internal speakers go off, and the sounds travels trough my external speakerset.
What is the problem with the T42 that the internal speakers aren't going off when on dock?

So it is meant to be like this? (the sounds keeps going on the internal loudspeakers, and the external speakerset?)
I could mute my internal loudspeakers with the buttons on the T42, but then i have to open the T42, and that is not the meaning when having a port replicator/dock.

Or use Keyboard Customizer Utility to map external keyboard keys to the volume buttons, and turn it down or mute it that way.
(I think the mute button only works on the internal speakers, but haven't done it in so long that I might be mistaken.)
Again, I have my internal speakers pretty low, so the external speakers are more easily heard.

When you use the volume buttons on the docked Thinkpad,
you also mute the audio output on the headphone jack and
the audio out on the docking. Just tried it with a X31 an T42p.
To mute of the internal speaker I have to plug the audio
cable direclty on the headphone jack on the Thinkpad,
instead of the docking station.
It's simply annoying.

Right, I believe that's the case with the MUTE button, i.e. it mutes all audio output. I simply turn the internal speaker volume to 0 or 1, and the dock's LINE OUT audio continues working fine. Since I have to keep the Windows volumn in SNDVOL32 pretty low, this effectively mutes the laptops internal speakers.
