Need confirmation of long Fans (M24) in 15" T43Ps

#1 Post by LPC » Wed Sep 10, 2008 10:04 am

OK,

I want to upgrade my short 13R2919 fan in my 15" T42P. I am on the look out for a 15" T43P, so I was thinking of getting the M24 model for the time being and swap it to the T43P when I get it.

My question is IBM shows in there parts list for 15" T43P the M24 in models 2668, 2669, 2686 and 2687. Thinkwiki is saying 2668, 2669, and 2687 are all T43P models so......I'm thinking the M24 long fan comes already installed on the 15" T43P. Is this a correct deduction?

If this is the case I will go ahead and get the M10 long fan for the T42P.

Thanks

AFAIK all T4xp units already have the appropriate long fans installed.

Thanks George for commenting. It seems though that not all T4xps have the appropriated long fans as mine T42p does not and according to IBM part list.

Wondering if they got smart and started with the T43ps as it seems by thinkwiki.........

Thanks Johan,

Saw these post thats why I thought it would work to just do the upgrade buy once (m24) and swap it into my current TP. Then saw that the T43ps might all came with M24 fans....so I could just do the cheaper M10 upgrade since I will aready have a long fan in my future T43p?.....

Thought getting a confirmation here would be wise.....
