T41p doesn't boot on battery

Hello,
this is my first post.
When I boot up my tp with AC + battery or only AC everything is OK, but when I boot up only with battery, booting proces stop after boot loader pass. I have grub loader. I can choose os in the menu and then nothing happens. The more so, when I tried boot up with CD (linux distro) it shows "Out of memory" message (on battery of course). I have no windows, but I remeber blue screen while booting on battery.

The best things are now. When I plug in together AC + battery and after few seconds unplug the AC, my laptop boot up properly only on battery.

What is going on? Is this problem with bios or battery. My battery is fine, it keeps approximately 4h.

Thanks T23FUN for your advice, but it doesn't help me. I'm not US (XP) user and my problem is little bit different . Maybe I described it too complicated. Mea culpa.

New description:
my laptop T41p doesn't boot on battery (without plugged AC). My battery is ok (4h).

It refers only to booting process. Thank You in advance for helping me.
