Extra memory for the T42p ?

Hi all
I have a t42p with 1.5gb of memory and wondering if adding another 1gb (taking off the .5) to make 2gb of memory would be worthwhile ?
At present I only use the maching of generally surfing the net but may use it in future for other uses.

Basically, will I notice the difference ?.

From the time that I upgraded 512Mb to 768Mb, at each level of incremental increase the noticeable change became less. I've never had a machine with 1.5Gb having always moved from 1 to 2Gb, but I can't imagine that it would make much of a difference at all unless you are regularly using RAM hungry apps such as CS, etc.

With 1gb, 1.5gb and 2gb on machines in the family, there is not much difference between them BUT mine is the 2gb one!

Cheapest guaranteed to work 1gb memory I could find was Crucial online.....

Which hard drive do you have fitted?

2Gb RAM won't do any harm. But if you're using XP you probably won't see any difference. On the other hand, most people agree that with VISTA, the more memory the better.

Another vote for no. I did it (because it was cheap) - but I noticed no difference.
