Will a P M 760 work in a T42P

Hi,

Was looking a Thinkwiki and it seems there are two Pentium M 2.0ghz
the 755 was used in the T42p and the 760 in the T43P.

Will the 760 work in the T42p? It seems it could since the max is a 765.

No it won't.

PM CPUs ending in 5 (715-765) are 400Mhz FSB Dothans, and these will work in T42p.

Ones ending in 0 (750-780) are 533Mhz FSB Dothans and will only work in T43/p and R52, as well as in some Z60 units.

As with any naming convention, there are exceptions. 710 is actually a 400Mhz Dothan.

Thanks....saw a cheap 760 and thought it would be a good upgrade for my T42....owell.
