2915abg sometimes can't get IP assigned

Hi Folks,

I have a T43 2668, with an intel 2915abg card. Over the years, I've had occassional problems with this card. What seems to crop up over and over again at places like airports and hotels is that it gets stuck trying to get an IP address assigned by the DHCP server. It's like it can't get in touch with the DHCP server via the 255.255.255.255 broadcast address or something.

The progress goes through just fine through everything else - associating with the access point, etc. It just gets stuck on the last step. This seems to happen regardless of the encryption used. This happens when other folks log on just fine.

I know this will be difficult or impossible to address without a list of access points with which i'm having trouble, but i wanted to see if anyone else has had similar problems, and if they've addressed them somehow. I've done a bit of searching, but didn't come across much which seemed to address this.
