Thinkpad T43 battery problem

Hi,
Recently, after using laptop on battery for 2-3 minutes, the system doesn't respond. I mean screen stays the way it is. Keyboard/pad doesn't respond. But while on AC it has no problem. So I guess it is a battery related issue. I used it on battery to test the issue. Same issue again and again. Any help?

But the battery still keeps charging when AC power is on. Only when it's on batter the screen freezes after few mins and I still can hear machine is running as usual.

If possible try another known good battery to see if your problem stays or goes.

If you can't find one let me know I have one you could use.
