The Famous 2010 hdd error

#1 Post by Easter » Sun Oct 05, 2008 3:36 am

hi
i am the owner off a HTS541080G9AT00 harddrive

how can i force the firmware update

its supported in the latest firmware update but it wont update the firmware

it says that the harddrive firmware is up2date

but i still get the 2010 error

and then i think is it possible to force an hdd firmware update to pass the 2010 error

Have a look at this post

Also Googling

Good luck and let us know how you've got on.

I have flashed many drives and all I can tell you is that the process works very poorly and sometimes not at all. The flashing process was designed for IBM-branded drives, not OEM drives. By reading all the related posts, I can often get the process to work on Hitachi OEM drives, but not always. I have had 2 drives with identical labels (except serial number) and with what looked like the same firmware version inside. One could be flashed and the other could not. The best advice I can give you is to use a Fujitsu drive. They almost always work.

Hello,

try this :

1. get the latest update ( FWHD54 ) from Lenovo

2. for flash use

hfui1404 OA6CA -pm MB4IA6CA.bdr /s /f mpbA6CAb.tbl

and after fail

hfui1404 IA6CA -pm MB4IA6CA.bdr /s /f mpbA6CAb.tbl

Hope this helps,

Aleksander
