Hello

2373-Q1G Intel Pentium M 765 2,1GHz/400MHz/2MB ATI Mobility FireGL T2 / 128 MB 60GB 7200 rpm

What's the difference between 2373-Q1G and 2373-Q1U ?

Cannot find 2373-Q1G from tabook.pdf.

Could that Q1G be european version of 2373-Q1U ?

Cannot find tabook.pdf or similar through ibm.com/europe

What do you think? Could 2373-Q1G for sub 3000eur be good investment now in 1Q 2005?

You're on the right track...the last letter in the model number tells you what international market it is made to sell in. 'U' == US/North America, for example. As to the other letter options, I'm not sure what every single one means (I think 'J' == Japan, for one; G may be [G]ermany or [G]reat Britain or something; I don't know).

Usually the last letter has some bearing on how the ThinkPad is customized for that particular market (for example, J models probably have Japanese keyboards and a Japanese version of Windows pre-loaded).

Other than these language differences, the specs of the machines are all identical (2373Q1x).
