Problem with IBM recovery password

Hi,

I am just a new owner of a T42p and I am very happy of it. I have a problem with the IBM recovery console. each time the computer is started, when I logged to windows, an IBM box is displayeds asking if I want to put a password on the recovery console. If I say yes, it ask me for the older password... I don't understand what it is asking because there is no older passwd...

anyone have infos on this problem?

I have the same problem. Cannot restore my system without a password which I never entered. Have you found a solution yet?

Try the same password you have used for login to the system when you were doing the backup.

Well, I try with the same passwd I usually use (in fact, the only one I use) and it was not this one... I am thinking about contacting IBM and asking for the restore CD...

The restore CD still asks you for a password. I had to uninstall windows to get to the rescue and recovery console.

Any news on this topic? I have the same problem with my T42P (2373HTU). Each time I boot, it asks if I want to change the password for R&R. Pretty annoying.
