Problems using Nokia 6620 as BT Modem w/T42p
Hi all.
I was hoping that someone could help me with a problem I am having. I am unable to tether my 6620 to my IBM ThinkPad (2373-P1U).
There is no rhyme or reason... but sometimes it works. I have them paired together and they will sometimes work. 80% of the time though when I tell my computer to dial through the BT modem it gives me error 633 and tells me that the connecting device/modem is already in use or is set-up incorrectly.
I have Nokia PC Suite installed and am using Microsoft Drivers. My laptop has BT built into it. Very cool.... but would be alot cooler if it worked correctly.
Any help anyone could give I would be very thankful.

Hey while we're on the subject, are there any Series 60 applications you recommend?
If you don't have it already, check out www.mtvoid.com . That so far has been the most useful app for me.

Sadly, rebooting does not fix the problem for me.
A guy on another forum I am on recommended I install the Nokia BT Modem Drivers... in lieu of just using the standard Microsoft ones.
Now to find the drivers.....!!!

I had the same problem with you along with the same phone (Nokia 6620). After more than a few hours of trial and error I got it to work using, of all things, the Microsoft "Standard Modem Over Bluetooth link" (#2, as the first one was not attached to any port).
I cannot really remember what the settings were as I lost my phone...I do believe however when I tried to get this to work, I had to have the phone already online (get the HTML browser up and online on the phone before connecting to it with your laptop).
Hope that helps.

It does help... and thank you.
For quite awhile I was manually connecting the phone to the GPRS access point prior to using my TP to connect... as you were.
I found a special modem init string that solved that problem though.
For some reason I am not having the problem any more. I uninstalled the "Standard Modem over BT Link" drivers and re-installed them... and it now works fine.
Seems to be alot of trial and error.
Thank you all for your replies!
