T41p: CD-RW/DVD Combo question

hi,

when i run the Nero InfoTool it reports that my Toshiba SD-R9012 only reads DVD-R and DVD-RW not DVD+R or +RW or DL +R.
But when i try it (+R and +RW) it works fine. Haven't tried DL DVD+R yet.
Is this only an error of the Nero Tool?

It also reports that it can read DVD-RAM too - could anybody confirm this?


My second notebooks DVD-ROM (Dell Latitude C610) can't read DVD+RW/DVD+R - only -R / -RW. (only one +R brand worked)
And Nero also reports this. The DVD-ROM is rather old.


Does anybody know if there's an firmware upgrade for my toshiba drive? Is it possible to update it without a floppy drive?
