Lexmark x74-X75 problem on T21

#1 Post by Ogg » Sun Jan 09, 2005 10:07 pm

Trying to get a Lexmark X74-X75 All-in-One to work with a T21 (WinXP SP1, and
128,eg ram). Problem is that the printer stalls at about "10% Completed"
(that is, sending the data to the printer), then the first sheet of paper
seems to feed, prints nothing, then spews the sheet out, then feeds another
sheet, seems to begin to want to print something but doesn't, spews out the
sheet, and the cycle repeats. The printer functions fine on a desktop that
has the same WinXP and 128meg and only USB 1.1.

I have discovered a new set of printer drivers at the Lexmark website, and
download the main set. But I am not convinced that the problem is the
drivers. Or is it?!!! (Haven't installed the drivers yet).

Should I be tweaking the overall Virtual Memory settings for this? Would
the USB port on the T21 be a concern? The USB works great with a small
digital camera and couple of different flashmemory drives.

How can I tell if the T21's USB is 1.0 or 1.1? Would I possibly need a BIOS update for the USB support?

Does anyone have any experience they can share in getting this printer to
perform?

Thanks,
..Ogg
