Anyone purchase a non-IBM(Lenovo) battery for their T4x?

My battery is almost dead after 3.5 years of use on my T42p. It lasts a maximum of 20 minutes. I tried full discharges, putting it in the freezer, everything. Doesn't help... so its time to buy a new battery.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with non-IBM(Lenovo) OEM batteries? Good? Bad? Which brands / resellers do you recommend? I am thinking of buying from eBay. Should I or should I not? I live in Spain but I'll be in the U.S. in a month for a trip so I can buy it then.

My experience with new (not NOS) IBM/Lenovo batteries is about 3-4 years. I've had a couple of refilled batteries which lasted about 2 years. I'm guessing the aftermarket batteries will be about as good as refills at best, and totally worthless at worst!

Unfortunately, I don't know if Lenovo is still making T4x batteries and if this is the case, everything out there will be NOS (new old stock) and could have been sitting on a shelf for who-knows-how-long!

Last time I check Lenovo still sells T4x battery and base on history their new batteries are manufactured within couple months.

They are very expansive though.
