IBM Access Connections gone nuts

#1 Post by Torque » Mon Jan 10, 2005 3:17 pm

Hello Thinkpads.com :D

Thank you for a great forum.

anyways, i have a thinkpad like the one in my signature. Recently installed XP Sp2. After that, IBM Access Connections just went crazy. It doesn't turn off the firewall, like posted here in this forum - but it can't find my router! I have to go into the windows wireless network section each time, and manually set 'use windows to manage wireless connections' ON, before IBM Access Connections can connect to my router. Why is that? And is there a remedy?

I didn't really use Access Connections earlier either, since i never really liked it. But because im gonna be using WLAN at home, at work and in school, it would be nice to have Access Connections manage them at setting them right up etc etc.

There are several possiblities. Please check if your access connection is the most up to date version, and also check if the driver for your a/b/g is the one which works before. My friend can not connect to his wireless router before he upgraded all the drivers and softwares, but my experience is that I can only stick on the original/old driver (coming with the laptop) in order to connect to my USR 8011 router.
