T43 strange screen behaviour

#1 Post by walla » Fri Nov 14, 2008 11:27 am

Hello everyone,

I have a T43 (2668-F7G) that runs at the maximum 1400x1050 resolution. However, every time after reopening a closed lid (lid action set to none) the resolution has changed to 1280 x 1024.

This results in that all desktop icons that were placed outside these limits are moved to the "middle of the screen" and open windows (f.e. browser) have been re-sized.

Any ideas on how to fix this and keep the 1400 x 1050 layout even after closing the lid?

Cheers,

Did you ever hook it up to a docking station / external monitor ?

Check if presentation director is over riding / setting this ( Fn + F7 )

Yes, it has been connected to the HDTV a while ago, but not anymore. Presentation director (Fn-f7) settings are at default (1400 x 1050 with no external monitors attached). I have also disabled the use of any additional devices unless they are plugged in.

Is there anything else I could try?

Driver

Sounds like a driver issue to me. My guess is re-installing or installing a new driver would fix the program.

This is a known "feature" that occurs when closing the lid. Do a search along the lines of "desktop icons move when lid closed" for more information. I use a small program called "Desktop Icon Restore" to circumvent this issue.
