If you are trying to hook up to a TV any super video cable will work.

I don't think there is one. My T42p didn't come with an S-Video cable. I think they expect you to go out and buy one yourself.

Hi,
I thought that also and tried to get the S-Video cable / Adapter to chinch by IBM - Partsale. They just asked for the FRU P/N I could not find anywhere on the web @ IBM. Additionally I tried the cable I have from my A31p, which has more pins (as the A31p has an Video in also).

Sincerely, Carlhermann

No, what we mean is, don't go trying to buy it from IBM. They don't have one to sell you. There is nothing special about the video cable for the T42-series. It takes a very standard S-Video cable that can be purchased at any audio/video store (at least in North America). The cable does not need to say IBM on the packaging, does not need to have been made by IBM, and doesn't even need to have been made for a ThinkPad. :-)

Just go to Radio Shack and ask for an S-Video cable, and you're set! :-)

There are two different S-video cables... both will work depending on what you want. The one mentioned above is an S-video to RCA converter.... it will allow you to connect to any TV (almost all) that has an RCA connection. The other one you can buy has S-video on both ends, so you can connect to any TV that has S-video input (you will get a better picture).

Hi,
okay, the connector is standard type, thus I will use a standard cable. Nevertheless I was used to get these adapters for all Thinkpads I had before in the box the Thinkpad came....

Thanks, Carlhermann
