LCD brightness setting question

#1 Post by genemark » Wed Jan 12, 2005 5:11 pm

I have a T42 model 2378-Fvu. It had occured to me recently that my LCD brightness ,when on battery, is a lot dimmer than when I use the AC power at the same brightness settings. I tried to adjust the brightness using the Fn-Home key to maximum (as indicated by the on screen display for brightness). However, even at the maximum brightness, the battery mode still appears 1 or 2 levels dimmer than the maximum brightness when it is plugged in. I also check the battery scheme and maximize the brightness on both battery power and ac power settings. I don't know what I am missing, but I seem to recall that when I first obtained the unit, I could achieve the maximum brightness even when on battery power. Is there any setting I might have modified without knowledge?
Thank you!

I think this is normal. At first I thought that the "maximum" brightness would be the same regardless of battery or AC power, but it makes sense the battery max brightness would be lower to save power. My machine was like that when I first got it, which means it's not anything that you modified. If you want the max brightness of AC running on battery, I believe you can change it so in the BIOS (Press the F1 key when starting up.)
