Multi-burner in ThinkPads

#1 Post by longfellow » Thu Jan 13, 2005 2:21 am

I have been reading lots of comments and speculations posted in this forum about the new T43 series ThinkPads. Everyone talks about faster processor, PCI Express technology, DDR2 memory support.....BUT

Why no one is wanting or talking about a faster multiburner? Every other computer manufacturer is offering 8X or atleast 4X multi-burner...why IBM is still offering the 2X drive?

Or anyone has news for a faster drive in the forth-coming T43 models?

There's no "new" multiburner for the T4X series, just the same old expensive, slow Panasonic UJ812.

The "Multiburner II" identification is to prevent confusion with the "original" multiburner for the UltraBay 2000.
