T42 won't recognize internal wireless card

#1 Post by jetmn » Fri Nov 28, 2008 3:47 pm

I have a T42 that was bought off Ebay and was a leased computer. I put a Samsung 160gb hard drive in it and have it up and running great except it will not recognize the internal wireless card. I have tried another card out of a T30 that is known working also (OEM IBM) and it doesn't recognize either of them. It does recognize a PCI wireless card and that works fine.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be wrong?
I did a bunch of searching but didn't find anything like this. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

Check in the BIOS to make sure wireless LAN is enabled. Don't ask me how I know.

Thanks Brad! I don't know why it comes up disabled, but that was it. I have been on the forums for quite a while, I just always found everything by searching before :D
