T42 Long Lead Time in UK!

#1 Post by bpsss » Thu Jan 13, 2005 1:49 pm

I ordered a 14" SXGA+ 1.8 80 GB T42 in early December, still awaiting delivery.....

Are these high resolution models thin on the ground in UK...they seem popular in the US. My dealer told me it has been manufactured in China and is being shipped today!!

It's the same here in NZ. I ordered a T42 in mid Dec and it's not shipping till the end of Jan. I may see it 1st week of Feb. When I ordered they said it would be two weeks.....time must pass very slowly at IBM. :)

There must be a very high demand for T42's especially now that their prices are dropping.
However taking over a month for delivery seem excessive. I was very very fortunate and got mine in 5 days, but I think when delivery takes over a month IBM should give their customers some incentives such as a voucher for accessories for the notebook case or something.

it's wonderful. I use this computer like 12 hours a day. For work, web surf, game etc. It is far superior to XGA for my uses. Everything is bright and crisp and it does not make my eyes hurt or anything.

I think i could use even higher resolution. I like to open many windows and I also code on this computer as well. So this was a perfect 14.1" screen for me.

Actually I like everything about the T42. :D
Can't complain...
