T42 external VGA problem

#1 Post by stoffel » Wed Dec 10, 2008 2:13 am

Hello,
I have a problem with my T42. I tried to connect a beamer (as I have done often before), and I got no screen. I first thought, the resolution has to be changed (Presentationredirector), nothing helped also after reboot no external screen.
When I connect my 21" TFT, no screen, also with the docking station.
The laptop's display itself works perfect.

Any Ideas?

Uninstall Presentation Director, set VGA to primary display in BIOS, and try it again.

Hi stoffel,

you play it safe and run two-track policy. :D
Just to be sure: The TFT works?

Hi,
Yes the laptop's TFT works fine....
and yes I tried two tracks
I need this function

@HarryC: how do I uninstall presentation Director?
I did not find it under "softeware"
I found the PDIRECT.EXE, but runs this prog. as a service?

See the pre-requisites for Presentation Director in this readme. Make sure that you've met them. To uninstall Presentation Director, if it is not in control panel, add/remove program list or if it does not have an uninstall icon in the start menu, then I have no idea. I am not a user of this package.

Hello HarryC,
I didn't get it to remove Presentation Director, but instead I took a Linux Live CD, switched the Boot device to CD and switched the
primary display to VGA in BIOS.
Nevertheless the system booted, and all output came on the Laptops TFT not on the external VGA.
I am realy at a loss...
