Updating/maintainingupgrading my used T22
I just bought a used T22 from IBM used equipment. I'm not sure if my version of the BIOS (whatever they are) and other software is up to date. I did all the updates for my operating system through Microsoft. Does anyone have any good suggestions for making sure my new computer runs smoothly now and in the future? I'd also like some advice on upgrades (hardware, software) and things to watch out for. I last had a used Dell laptop which predictably crashed and don't want this new laptop to suffer the same fate. Thanks
T22, nothing fancy

For BIOS and drivers you can go to IBM's web site and if you are using IE, you can have the site verify your system as to make/model/etc. and then provide a list of files/drivers/BIOS that you can update.
The link is:
http://www.ibm.com/products/finder/us/f ... r&trac=SU1
And on the right is an area where you can have that automagically done. It is the Quick Path link.
As a side note, I suggest but am not related to, nor receive kick-backs from yadda yadda yadda, adaware, spybot, zone alarm, and a good antivirus.

For drivers, go to www.tpdrivers.com and get all of them. If you have the Thinkpad Software Installer installed, it will tell you the version of the driver youre using.
As for hardware, you can max out your ram (I think it's 512MB for the T22 and 1GB for the T23) and upgrade to a 5200RPM or 7200RPM hard drive. If youre interested in a stick of 256MB PC133 RAM, send me a PM.
