advice needed access to video connector t40 laptop: Help
Hi, does anyone know how I can get to the video connector on a t40 laptop to reseat the connector. I know how to take off the keyboard and entire palmest, but what do I do from there to get access to the video connector to reseat the connection. Also, when palmrest is off, how would I remove complete lcd assembly along w hinges and video ribbon in order to facilitate install of complete new lcd assembly complete w hinges and ribbon(Do Not want to take apart lcd itself)
Thank you please post(please do not refer me to pdf manual)

There are 2 long screws at the back of the bottom (19mm) that hold the keyboard bezel plus one short screw at the left, just behind the palmrest on the top. The keyboard bazel can then be removed. There is one screw holding down the connector. To remove the screen, first remove the 10mm screw from above by the hinge on the left, then there are 4 screws (2 on each side) from the back into the hinges.

By the 'keyboard bezel' you are referring to the plastic strip area in front of the power button and access ibm button, correct?
In order to remove the 'keyboard bezel' you must still first remove the entire palmrest, all screws on bottom of unit, keyboard, and then proceed w your instructions to remove additional screws; the video connector is under the left hinge; therefore you are advising me to get access w your method, correct?
Thank you very much for your reply, you must be an expert on this as it seems no one else replied to my post.
Have a wonderful holiday!! Thanks very much.

It needs only one correct answer to answer your question.
No need for other people to confirm that.
And don't sneeze at the PDF manual, it DOES have everything described AND illustrated!
