Hi
I run Win XP with SP 2. I recently installed some more RAM on my new TP P42. Since then, after once putting the computer to standby mode and waking it up again, you hear a loud clicking sound from the speakers at the beginning and at the end of every WAV sound it plays (above all with system sounds this is quite annoying).
512 MB RAM are preinstalled on my system. It does not matter if I add a 512 MB or 256 MB DIMM. The problem disappears if I remove the added memory again. The problem is only there if the computer was put to standby before. If it was freshly rebooted or put to hibernation, the problem does not appear. Also after having it put to standby, woken up, and then put to hibernation and then woken up, the problem does not appear.
I installed the latest sound drivers from the IBM website which did not help.
Does anyone know a solution?
Thanks, Simon
