T41 not charging batteries any more

#1 Post by shansra11 » Tue Dec 23, 2008 3:24 pm

Hi, my T41 is not charging batteries anymore. The battery charges on my friends computer, and my computer runs off charged batteries, it just wont charge them. I opened up the case to test for fuses, and most of them seems okay...I just have some questions
Are the fuses black with and F, green with something like X15, or just two metal sides around a white "bar". Most of them seem ok, ive been checking with a voltemeter on the beep setting.
Im having some trouble finding fuse1 and fuse 2. here is the picture i took

but for the most part the fuses seem to be okay, so is there any other parts that I should check for that would cause the battery not to charge, and how would I check them...I only have a voltmeter
THANKS

I would check 2 fuses. They are under the board right near the main battery connection. One is a normal looking large fuse. The other is a small black fuse with an "f" on it. The second is the one I'm betting on. (or your charging sircuit is bad, which is a bigger problem)

those both measure under 1 ohm resistance...any idea how to check the charging circuit?

look on my post with this same problem. i found suorce of problem. maybe you too have problem with adp3806 or resistor 0 ohm on leg adp or bad integrated 2 mosfets.

large problem is buy adp3805 becouse is absolete

you can check charge.

measure voltage on leg 24 should be over 12 v
measure voltage on leg 1 should be near 16v

cheers

It seems my F2 is also blown. But any idea about the fuse
-current value
-slow or fast
-physical size (seems like 1210 or 1206)?

But with the first visit to this forum i instantly found the problem. Thanks for that!
