T41p Fn-F4 doesn't work on clean XP install

#1 Post by mpanichello » Sat Jun 05, 2004 2:44 am

I've done a clean install of XP and installed the IBM PM, MaxiMiser, and Hotkey software. The ACPI PM soft gives me Fn-F3 and Fn-F12 which, interestingly, will enable hibernation even when it's been disabled. However, nothing I've done has brought Fn-F4 back, and I'm very fond of suspend. I can suspend the laptop using the Start Menu...but I want my hotkey back!!!

Thanks, -Mike

In the "Power Options" in the Control Panel, what do you have the sleep button set to under the "Advanced" tab? ;)

Good call. I figured that since there wasn't a dedicated button, that particular option would have no effect. I should have known that since it was visible, it had to map to something - just didn't expect it to be a Fn-key combo. Thanks!
