help with ibm rescue and restore

#1 Post by metricss » Thu Dec 25, 2008 2:20 pm

I needed to reinstall windows onto my t42, so i put rescue disk into drive, and installed all 7 disks, now when i restart my computer it goes directly into the rescue and recovery screen where it gives you the menu on the left, how do i get it to load windows? It installed all 7 disks to restore factory contents, so shouldnt windows xp be loaded on there somewhere?

I believe all is OK, but that you just need to follow the steps outlined in the thread T42 Windows XP Pro Reinstall and more specifically in this post. Let us know if this solves the problem?

Merry Christmas! :santa:

It may help to shut your T42 down, when starting it again press the Access IBM button and after it has loaded the R&R select to restart the system. Not 100% but it has worked on occasions.
