T40 question about slight flex around the slimbay.

Hi guys, great forum you have here and it's great to finally be part of it

i have noticed on my T40 that if you look side on when opening and closing the lid you can see the base flex a bit up and down around where the optical drive is located as you open and close the lid, just wanted to make sure that this was pretty much "how they are"?

Also are their users here that have some keyboard marks on the lcd, do you just live with it or do you replace the lcd itself because it annoys you?, i can't see mine when the lcd is on only when it's off and i have to be at the right angle in full daylight to see them.

on a different topic i replaced the 60 fujitsu hard drive with a new samsung 120gb last night and it's running very well, specs are 1204mb ram, 120gb hard drive, 1.5 pentium M banias chip and the onboard Ati videochip. It goes very well for me and i even play WOW on it a fair bit when it's too hot in the office

YIKES! don't remind me my T43 does the same thing. I keep something in every bay just to keep the flex down

Still a really great laptop compared to the cheap subpar mid range rubbish they pump out these days, i'm sure i can overlook it


If i ever win lotto i'm gonna buy me a buy me a but load of thinkpads and fill a pool with and bath in em, yes i love em that much

i'm eyeing a cheap R40 i think it is on ebay at the moment, must resist muuuuuuuuust resist, darn addictive things.
