My Screen is so dark!

i dont know how to check the part list, i lost the url , if aybody could help me out..

I have a T42 2373 with a SXGA+ screen but its pretty dim when compared to my freind's and its also a tad yellow - or his is a bit bluer (When he turns his level down 1, it looks about the same brightness - but mine still is a bit yellow)

i bought the same computer as mine for my girlfreind as well and she seems to haev the same problem - so im guessing that its a particular panel model that i have.

Now i remember, before i formatted the computer that it would not let me go to the highest brightness level without being plugged in - could i be missing a diver or some peice of software that it isnt allowing me to go to full brightness? In BIOS ive changed the screen brightness from normal to bright and back again and not really noticed any difference.

Any help?
..or shoudl i be calling IBM and asking for a screen replacement?
