best way to recondition my battery?
Ok so my battery has a green indication from the battery health, but Suddenly drops from 25 to 5 without warning.
the thought I have is ... would the best way to recondition the battery be running it till windows shuts down at 2 percent, or go extreme and run it until it refuses to boot?

Re: best way to recondition my battery?
The Power Manager for T43 has a battery gauge reset function. It is way better than the Battery Maximizer. It should work on the T41.

Re: best way to recondition my battery?
I just deep cycled the battery and it fell from 39 to 30 and should be more accurate now.
although i thought a deep cycle was supposed to improve my battery.
I am working on cycle 2 now

I've never seen an improvement.

Re: best way to recondition my battery?
I did.. I went from the 39 I was getting to 30 and that stopped the sudden drops in battery power.
then I ran 2 deep cycles and gained 2 MWH of battery life. no huge improvement, but it's something.

Re: best way to recondition my battery?
Unlike NiCad batteries which can develop a “memory” problem if not deep cycled, the Li Ion batteries really do not, and can not be reconditioned. Most of “improvement” which may be seen from a deep cycle is resetting the battery meter. This software uses a mathematical algorithm to estimate battery capacity based on monitoring output power during discharge. The algorithm makes assumption on full battery capacity, and charging efficiency. As the measurement is relative until a reset, errors will accumulate after several shallow discharge – charge cycles. Resetting the guage either by using the reset function, or running the computer until it stops re-establishes the end point for the capacity
