Watts that you say?

#1 Post by MrBrian » Tue Jan 18, 2005 11:30 am

Could anyone tell me approximately how many watts my IBM Thinkpad T20 draws when plugged in (not running on the battery)? I want to buy a power inverter for use in my truck and need to know which size inverter it'll take to power my Thinkpad.

Thanks,
Brian

I think a 75W should be more than enough to power the laptop.
* T60 * X61 * X41 * T500 * ThinkCentre A58 *

The AC adaptors draw 70 watts max I think, so that should be a good worst case number.

The adapter that ships with the T20 as well as IBM's FRU adapter are 72 Watt and I believe (from memory) approx. 1450ma or 1.45 Amps. Even the bottom-of-the line $29.99 inverters you'll find should suffice.
