T43 laptop opinion please

I need to purchase a new laptop for use over the next 12 to 18 months. Primary use will be financial using Quickbooks for a startup grocery coop. We use Thinkpads at work and are very happy. I use a t42p and love it. 60g hd, 1g ram, video ram and 15 in lcd.

I want to purchase a Thinkpad for the book keeper. I found this one on Buy.com.

Any opinions?

It appears to be pretty stripped down but I do not know anything about the t43.

Price needs to be around $300 to $400 max.

honesty, I wouldnt buy it... my T41 I got for 190 has the same specs... the only plus about this laptop compared to mine is a faster bus/ram speed, new battery(maybe). but mine has a CDRW drive too.
although I should mention this system also has better video card specs.


if you wait around on the forums you could buy a used T42p with overal better specs for about 300-400$

This particular T43 is the lowest spec'd T43 imaginable...not a bad machine, but not for $300.

Check underclocker's T43 in the forum's Marketplace, a lot more bite for just a few extra bucks, and he's one of the most trusted sellers on this site...
