HELP! No power and ALL indicator lights flashing
HELP! No power and ALL indicator lights flashing
Hello everyone,
I have a question regarding my 2373 T40 that will not power up. One of my kids was using it with a USB extension cord plugged into the side and I think it was dropped. The bottom USB port is pretty mangled up on the inside and missing the black plastic spacer and the unit will not turn on. With the AC adapter plugged in the battery indicator light flashes orange. Once the power button is pressed, ALL the indicator lights except the hard drive indicator start flashing. They continue to flash until the AC cord is removed and the battery runs out of power. So far I’ve replaced the AC adapter and removed & re-installed the battery, hard drive, memory, cmos battery with no change.
Any ideas on the cause and what repairs are needed?
Thanks for any suggestions & advice
John

Re: HELP! No power and ALL indicator lights flashing
in my experience with T4x mobo's - the usb ports are very close to the power supply circuit
messing with those could result in damage to other power-related components
one can tell what's wrong only after removing the keyboard and upper bezel (and palmrest) - refer to the HMM for that - its not a very difficult thing to do
